You will start the road trip from Frankfurt, which is a green, new and busy city with a lively soul. After having a walk in the old city center or having a stroll by the river Main, get ready and hop in your car! You have a 2-hours drive ahead of you.

Your first stop will be Stuttgart, new and vibrant city with an old city center. You can stop here to have some typical german delicacies such as Flammkuchen, a kind of pizza with cheese, potatoes and sausages. In Stuttgart, it is worth it to have a quick visit at the Public Library - it will most probably be one of the most beautiful libraries you will ever see. This modern complex building, always full of people and students, is famous worldwide for its unconventional and insta-friendly architecture.

Your next stop will be Lichtenstein Castle in Württemberg. Lichtenstein Castle is a historicist castle built in the 19th century. It is located at the edge of the Swabian Alps, 817 metres above sea level. Inspired by Wilhelm Hauff’s novel “Lichtenstein”, Count Wilhelm of Württemberg had it built in 1840-42.

Worth knowing: the site around the neo-Gothic castle is composed of other buildings from the 19th century, a chapel, an ample garden and the romantic courtyard. Built to pay homage to medieval times, Lichtenstein Castle is also known as “Württemberg´s fairytale castle” as it adheres to romanticism in style and furnishing.

If you enjoyed Lichtenstein Castle’s location, charm and vibes, you will be happy to know that this is not the first castle you will visit. As in a road trip is more the journey than the destination that counts, remember to stop and explore at your own likeness.

Our advice: always choose normal streets instead of highways, because they tend to be more characteristic. In this case, you will pass within the forest, between hills and lakes. And if you are hungry - you will most definitely find the perfect spot for a picnic sooner or later.

Your next step is another castle - Neuschwanstein Castle, which is probably one of the most famous castles in the world, known to be the “Disney Castle”. Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. The shy king had built the castle in order to withdraw from public life – now vast numbers of people came to view his private refuge. The setting of Neuschwanstein could not be more idyllic.

After leaving the castle make sure to take the Schwarzwaldochstrasse or "Black Forest High Road", which is a panoramic street in the Black Forest known for its incredible views and panoramas.

Work knowing: it is the oldest and the most known panoramic drive in Germany, where you will be able to stop to take selfies, memories and enjoy the view at any time.

Your final stop will be in the French Strasbourg, which is a picturesque town extremely influenced by German culture and traditions. Having a stroll in Strasbourg will be the perfect end of your road trip, you can stop to have a romantic dinner, visit traditional boutiques or have an aperitif in a charming cafe.
